Depending upon how early in the journey buyers and sellers come to us, the situation as it stands, and the likelihood of the desired outcome we have alternative compensation structures available.

  • Not necessarily, we do have a qualification process that is built around the probability of achievement from the client’s perspective or definition of success. In other words, if we don’t believe we can produce an outcome that will make our clients happy, we won't take the project, regardless of the service offering or solution.

  • Our passion is to serve businesses involving EBITDA between $0.5 million and $5 million, but in qualified situations we will work with larger clients insofar as it is a closely held operation. In certain asset heavy and capital intensive industries where we have a unique history, we do tend to serve larger clients.

  • Absolutely. We are a value-based company and we believe in leading with love in every transaction. A portion of our profits are allocated to DAFs (donor-advised funds) that contribute to impact-driven organizations and missions. In some instances, we will work with our full-service buyside and sellside clients to mutually decide where the pro-rata allocation from their deal will be committed.

  • Guaranteed full cycle timelines aren't realistic and completely depend on the existing state of the business. However, for many exit-ready small-to-midsize businesses, it can take between 45 and 90 days for proper Go-To-Market preparation and 60-120 days from an accepted LOI to closing. In between these phases, the marketing timeline after a deal goes live can be as little as hours in some cases and a full year in others. We help clients understand their ongoing exit readiness and marketability profile from the earliest stages of engagement to continuously benchmark and set expectations for their business.

  • This is largely dependent upon (1) the size and complexity of your company’s records and operations, (2) the sell-side package you choose, and (3) the desired level of discretion with employees. During the initial consultation call, we will get a basic understanding of your business, your desired level of discretion with staff, and desired time commitment to recommend a process tailored to your goals.

  • In general, we are of the mindset at Made that you make your money when you buy right and sometimes you have to ‘kiss a lot of frogs’, but depending on your structure, usually anywhere from 3 to 24 months. If you are launching a fund with an entire deal support team, you could be targeting 90-day full cycle deal timelines or less, whereas if you are a search fund, we generally recommend having 24 months earmarked and prepared for your process, with 18 months being the baseline. If you are targeting a bolt-on for your existing company, the timeline should lie in between the short turnaround at the PE fund level and longer timeline of searchers; your team knows the business process and model of the targets well, so diligence sprints are shorter, but origination and integration is equally (if not more) specific and taxing than in any other setting.
